The WUMI Tripod Designer Lamp is a printable light fixture built around a simple idea: pair a clean, modern tripod stand with a textured cylindrical shade that turns plain LED light into something warmer and more atmospheric. It is meant to work as either a decor piece or an actual working lamp, depending on how much you want to use it.

What does it look like when printed?

The design has two main parts, the tripod base and the woven-style lampshade. The base keeps a minimal, modern silhouette, while the shade carries a patterned, textured surface that gives the whole piece its character. That texture is not just decorative, it is what shapes the light once a bulb is inside, breaking it up into a softer, more diffused glow rather than a flat wash of brightness.

How does it print?

The lampshade is intended to be printed in vase mode, which keeps it as a single continuous wall with no supports needed, so there is little cleanup involved once it comes off the plate. The main thing to watch for is handling the shade carefully when removing it from the print plate, since thin vase-mode walls can be more fragile at that stage. The tripod base and the lamp kit adapter parts print as separate pieces that go together during assembly.

What do you need to light it?

WUMI is designed to work with a compatible LED lamp kit rather than a specific bulb type built into the model. Once the parts are printed, you insert the light kit, put the pieces together, and the lamp is ready to use. This keeps the printed parts focused purely on the shape and light diffusion, while the electrical side is handled by a standard kit you add yourself.

Where does it fit?

Because the base is compact and the shade is a manageable cylindrical shape, WUMI fits naturally in spots where you want a bit of warm light without a bulky fixture: a desk, a bedside table, a shelf, a sideboard, or a living room corner. It reads as a designer object first and a lamp second, so it holds up as a display piece even before it is wired up with a light source.

For anyone building out a shelf of printed lighting pieces, WUMI adds a softer, more textural option next to plainer shades, and its tripod stance gives it a slightly different footprint on a surface than a straight cylindrical lamp would.
