CLOUDY is a soap dispenser from Sektor 7 Studios, built around a simple idea: what if a printed object could look like it was upholstered, seams and padding included, while still working as a normal pump bottle. It is part of the studio’s Cushion Collection, a line of pieces that borrow the language of soft furnishings for hard, printed objects.

What does it look like printed?

The body reads as a soft, cushioned form rather than a rigid plastic shape. Deep seams, rounded sections and subtle surface details are worked into the geometry to create the illusion of a real padded, upholstered object, even though the whole dispenser is 3D printed. The design stays clean and minimal underneath the texture, so it still looks like a piece meant for a modern bathroom or kitchen rather than a novelty item.

How does it print?

The cushion structure is already integrated into the model itself, so no special fuzzy-skin settings are needed to get the padded look. Sektor 7 Studios recommends a well-calibrated printer and a matte filament, since the reduced shine helps the soft folds and padded details read convincingly rather than looking glossy and plastic. Because the dispenser is meant to hold liquid soap, the printed container should be checked for watertightness before use, and depending on the printer, filament and settings, some extra sealing may be worth doing.

Does it work with any soap pump?

The dispenser is designed to accept commonly available soap dispenser pumps, and the pump mechanism itself is removable, which makes refilling straightforward. To improve compatibility, two different thread-length versions of the model are provided. Since pump dimensions and thread length vary between brands, it is worth comparing your own pump against the model before printing, as fit with every pump on the market cannot be guaranteed.

Where does it fit?

CLOUDY is meant for everyday use rather than display alone, sitting on a bathroom sink, a guest bathroom counter or next to a kitchen tap. As part of the wider Cushion Collection, it also works alongside other pieces from the series for anyone building out a themed set of soft-looking, hard-printed objects on a shelf or counter.
